The only grappling match on a card filled with MMA, Muay Thai, and Kickboxing is a great one. My favorite grappler Fabricio “Hokage” Andrey will be taking on the rising British star, Owen Jones at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. Fabricio was originally scheduled to face Kade Ruotolo for the Featherweight Belt but Kade had to withdraw after picking up an injury in his recent MMA victory. Fabricio and Owen have met before so Owen jumped on the opportunity to step in and avenge his earlier loss to Fabricio.
Owen Jones has a tough, flexible guard game that can produce dangerous leg locks. He also plays around with a reverse closed guard game, or donkey guard, that is very unusual but can end up in stalemate. He’s a fierce competitor who will take on anyone. At the CJI 2 teams event in 2025, he stalemated the 2024 ADCC Heavyweight and Absolute Champion, Kaynan Duarte. Despite Kaynan having ~70lbs on Owen, he could not submit Owen and both were eliminated, a victory for the smaller grappler. In 2026, at a Polaris Squads event, Owen submitted the heavyweight Devhonte Johnson, who also had a ~50lb weight advantage.
Fabricio Andrey might be the most exciting grappler in the world. He can wrestle, pass guard, hit leg locks or flying submissions, and best of all does it all in a fast paced entertaining style. At the 2024 ADCC trials, he showcased all of his skills.
His match vs Kade was due to be a barnburner as both are very aggressive movement based grapplers. Owen will likely pull guard and try to play a more control based game which can sometimes slow the action, but I don’t expect this to be the case with these two. Owen will be eager to get a finish and make a statement, and Fabricio has the heart of a lion and brings it every single match.
Tune in on Amazon Prime to see how it goes down if you are in the US or Canada. All other streaming options can be found here. They are scheduled to be Bout #4 so I would expect them to be on after 10pm. You should have the ability to skip ahead and start from the beginning if you are joining late. Enjoy the match!
